EWS Makes Managing Your ECommerce Website EASY!...
This package of scripts makes it easy to add products to your website. It's a complete standalone system and even provides you with a user-management script allowing you to charge for / restrict access to your pages (with unlimited access levels). The package integrates products, affiliates and users with PayPal IPN. See the full list of features here.
Requirements
Your website must have access to the following services:
You need to have access to your MySQL Database. You'll need to know your database username and password because these must be entered into the scripts.
You need to enter your database login details into the constants file using a text editor. If you need an HTML / PHP Editor, see the page on HTML Editors.
You need to be able to upload the scripts to your website. If you're unsure - please read the installation procedure below and decide if you can do it. If you need an FTP tool, see the page on Telnet and FTP.
All scripts are FULLY commented and easy to understand and change.
Installation
Before buying the script, please ensure you can complete this installation procedure:
- Download and unzip the scripts onto your PC.
- Define Your Settings. There are quite a few which are fully explained in the settings file. For example
entering your database login details.
- Set your email/other preferences where indicated in twb-constants.php. This file contains all the system settings, i.e. for the content of the automatically sent outbound emails (Subject, First Line, Signature...) etc. Note you can set membership to be commercial - then create any number of different 'membership' products.
- Rename index.php unless you're installing all this in it's own sub-directory, you'll probably need to rename index.php to something like 'twb-index.php' so it won't overwrite any existing file of the same name.
- Upload all the files to your web directory.
- Optional: (If you want to integrate this with Domains Aide then just replace the existing domainsaide/register/template/pay.template with the one provided.)
- Run the setup script by opening http://yourdomain.com/rebuild-twbaff-db.php in your browser. It will create the DB tables and insert the default admin user. You can get to this script from the admin page (index.php).
- Login - go to the login page (i.e. via the main page: http://yourdomain.com/index.php - click on 'Login'). The default login is user: admin , password: admin
- Setup Your Products. You can create new products, and update and delete existing ones easily using the Products-Manager. To create membership products, they should contain a certain string in the product name - ('Membership' by default)
- Setup Your Banners. If you will have affiliates, you need to set up the links they'll use to advertise you. This is done in the Banners page.
- Add Tracking Code. You must add the tracking code to the very top of all pages your affiliates will direct prospects to. It tracks hits and cookies the prospect.
Technical Notes
The IPN script, in replacement for the standard DomainsAide one, provides these additional features:
The scripts use the variable 'custom'. This can be changed if you need to use this field elsewhere by setting the appropriate value in twb-constants.php. What this does is set the value of the 'referrer_id' in the sales table to the value of the variable specified.
